Job Description/Requirements

Key responsibility
Procurement Assistant responsibilities include researching new vendors, tracking deliveries and updating order records. The applicant should be familiar with supply chain procedures while making cost-effective purchases and ensure timely delivery.

Duties and Responsibility
a)    Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
b)    Research potential vendors
c)    Track orders and ensure timely delivery
d)    Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
e)    Conduct market research to identify pricing trends
f)     Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices
g)    Prepare cost analyses
h)    Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts
i)     Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
j)     Liaise with stores staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition
k)    Ensure proper record keeping for all documents

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS
1. Academic Qualifications

-    Bachelor Degree in procurement and supply chain management or relevant field

2. Professional Qualifications
-    Professional training and certification in procurement and supply chain would also be desirable.
-    Membership of Professional body KISM

3. Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in procurement and supply chain Industry.

4. Skills and Attributes
a)    Good understanding of supply chain procedures
b)    Hands-on experience with purchasing software
c)    Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
d)    Knowledge of market research
e)    Solid organizational skills
f)     Experience working with ERP (SAP) is an added advantage
