Our client, a group of schools, is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager.

Job Description/Requirements

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the procurement functions and purchases of goods and services while ensuring the institution sticks to budgets and operates profitably. He/she will be responsible for strategizing and negotiating with suppliers. The ideal candidate Must have at least 3 years in a similar position and good working knowledge of Sage & Excel.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Liaises with key role players to determine their product and service needs and responds promptly to their purchase requisitions.
•    Monitors business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times.
•    Nurtures relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices for the company.
•    Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and minimising stock levels, whilst avoiding stock-out situations.
•    Reviewing suppliers’ contractual documentation.
•    Ensuring that applicable due diligence investigations on potential suppliers are undertaken, reviewed and filed for future reference.
•    Reviewing relationships with existing suppliers, to ensure ongoing feasibility.
•    Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
•    Developing, maintaining and getting management approval for procurement standard policies and procedures.
•    Processing and approving purchase orders on Sage and organising and confirming delivery of goods and services.
•    Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
•    Preparing procurement reports for management.
•    Maintaining supplier and procurement data on Sage.
•    Calculate ROI (return on investment) of procurement department aligned with predetermined set targets.
•    Management of procurement staff in Kisumu.

•    Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business/Logistics/Supply Chain Management or related field.
•    Must have at least 3 years’ experience as a Senior Procurement Officer
•    Must be proficient with Sage & Excel.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Must have in-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing and negotiating terms.
•    Have excellent financial analysis skills.
•    Be good at networking.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 100,000-120,000 (Approx. 1,000-1,200 USD).
Position Level: Lower Mid-level.
Location: Nairobi, Kenya.
