Job Summary

The overall purpose of the position is to provide leadership and oversight of all the activities of the organization and deliver on assigned goals and objectives.

Job Description/Requirements

Contract Type: Two Years – renewable subject to performance and funding
Type of engagement: Full time
Location: Nairobi (with frequent travel to Lower Eastern Kenya)

Key responsibilities:
• Oversee the day to day operations of the office and provide regular updates to the management
• Developing annual operating budgets and ensuring implementation of approved budgets by adhering to proper internal monitoring and control procedures
• Carrying out resource mobilization and partnership building
• Ensure timely planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of all grant projects
• Ensuring effective communication with the management and providing project reports
• Providing leadership to other employees
• Participate in various stakeholder forums and push the agenda for women and youth empowerment;
• Overseeing and ensuring implementation of corporate policies and programmes; ensuring compliance with the laws and regulatory framework of Kenya.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree in a development related field/ social discipline;
• 5 years’ experience working with and engaging with communities at the grass-root level;
• Experience in resource mobilization;
• Experience engaging with community leaders and other stakeholders;
• Experience in facilitating training sessions/ group sessions;
• Experience in advocacy would be an added advantage;
• Report writing skills;
• Excellent computer skills – MS Office Suite and use of Social Media platforms.

• Interest in working with communities for economic empowerment;
• Interpersonal skills and ability to interact with various stakeholders;
