PATH is a global nonprofit dedicated to achieving health equity. With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the worldâs most pressing heath challenges.
PATH works to accelerate health equity by bringing together public institutions, businesses, social enterprises, and investors to solve the most pressing health challenges. PATH implements innovative, sustainable health solutions that align with the countryâs needs and priorities, empowering millions to transform their own health.
PATH's Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (MNTDs) program is a leader in the effort to end malaria illnesses and deaths and reduce the burden of neglected tropical diseases. We strive to refine and develop new tools and approaches, invest in national programs, and expand, analyze, and interpret the evidence base needed to guide rational decision making in the pursuit of malaria control and elimination. Our vector control group, in close collaboration with PATH's Market Dynamics team, works directly with national malaria control programs, academic partners, industry, and other key stakeholders to (1) conduct impact and cost-effectiveness evaluations of next-generation malaria vector control tools deployed at scale and (2) analyze, understand, and strengthen markets to increase timely, equitable, and sustainable access to these novel tools and approaches.Â
PATH seeks a Project Director for the Unitaid-funded project Catalyzing an expanded vector control toolbox to fight malaria. The purpose of the anticipated grant is to enable operational research on new vector control tools and delivery strategies to accelerate uptake in the event of an (anticipated) positive WHO recommendation. Specific objectives include facilitating activities that will (1) generate evidence to help malaria endemic countries define specific use cases that will maximize the impact and cost-effectiveness of key new tools; and (2) prime the market for future scale-up should new interventions be recommended. Additional work will include malaria transmission mathematical modeling and market scenario analysis to inform strategies on combining vector control tools in various intervention packages to maximize impact across various transmission settings.Â
The Project Director will work with PATH technical leads from within MNTDs and other PATH departments, divisions, and country offices as well as range of external partners to guide overall implementation and management of the project in multiple countries in malaria-endemic Africa.
Â
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
â Provide overall project leadership (programmatic, financial, and administrative) consistent with PATHâs mission, values, and People Philosophy
â Model cultural and organizational agility internally and externally
â Co-develop and execute the overall project strategy and work plan, ensuring the completion of all project deliverables.

â Provide or coordinate technical supervision for all aspects of contract work, including consultant and subcontractor identification and management.
â Represent PATH and build and maintain excellent, productive relationships with Unitaid, project partners, ministries of health and other government stakeholders, and other relevant actors.
â Serve as the project representative responsible for all issues, concerns, or problems and liaise with Unitaid personnel to support project implementation and respond to all questions, concerns, and comments.
â Ensure timely and complete submission of all performance reports and responses to Unitaid requests for performance, success stories, and financial information.
â Guide the learning agenda for the project, use lessons learned to modify project approaches and strategies, and disseminate findings.
â Liaise across the PATH Malaria portfolio to ensure efficiencies in implementing the project.
â Participate in the further development and evolution of PATHâs overall vector control portfolio and strategy.
