Project Management Officer


Job Summary

We are looking for a detailed-oriented individual to join our team as the PMO in the executive office. The successful candidate will provide oversight and leadership in executing projects from planning to completion given constraints of time, budget and quality.

  • Minimum Qualification: Masters
  • Experience Level: Senior level
  • Experience Length: 5 years

Job Description/Requirements

The responsibilities of the PMO include strategic planning, project and process governance, project budgeting, costing and performance, Monitoring, Cost Control and Project Execution amongst others.


  • A master’s Degree in a business-related field
  • 5 years’ experience in project management role
  • A member of Kenya Association of Project Managers


Strategic Planning

  • Establishing planning horizons for the various initiatives
  • Envisioning & validating project risks then actively mitigating them
  • Defining key tasks linked with project milestones and delivery follow through
  • Estimating resources requirements, timelines and coordinating their fulfillment
  • Identification of key project partners, influencers and stakeholders and participating in their engagement.

Projects and Process Governance

  • Ensuring existing processes are applied in the management of projects
  • Reviewing project traction and identifying process weaknesses / gaps and actively working towards their resolution or avoidance.
  • Strengthening the projects through continuous knowledge improvement and research

Project Budgeting, Costing and Performance

  • Undertaking project initiation processes with keen focus on budgeting and estimation for cost, effort and time.
  • Stagewise validation and review of project status against set out budget and performance KPIs.
  • Consistently reviewing project progress to ensure balance on quality, cost and time for all outputs and stakeholders.

Monitoring, Cost Control and Project Execution

  • Applying the use of project management tools in capture of activities, outcomes, tasks, milestones etc.
  • Resource follow-up and follow through for closures on tasks, issue resolution where conflicts or priorities compete.
  • Project reporting and overall projects performance and review.
  • Tracking partners performance on their allocated tasks and contractual fulfillment.
  • Advisory to PMO on key project success factors, KPIs and their status.
