CHAK is a national Faith Based health service delivery and program organization of the Protestant Churches in Kenya established in 1946 with presence in 45 counties in Kenya.


CHAK has emerged as a market leader and driver in HIV prevention, care and treatment programs in Kenya, working collaboratively with the national and the county governments to improve access to quality prevention and service delivery and to catalyze strengthening of county health systems and community health networks, fostering greater sustainability and self-reliance.


CHAK will be implementing a AFYA JUMUISHA USAID funded 5-year HIV Prevention, care and treatment project in Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu and Nyandarua, starting around April / May of
2021.


CHAK is therefore seeking to recruit competent, experienced and highly skilled candidates expected to drive the project to achieve its objectives and to act as change agents supporting a
culture of performance and accountability within the project counties.

The PO Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning is responsible for carrying out and implementing the M&E system as well as incorporating lessons learned from activity implementation in an HIV
USAID project. S/he will be key person for regular compilation, verification, storage, consolidation of project data and giving real time information to program team.


Reporting to the M&E Manager, the key duties and responsibilities include:

  • S/he develop monitoring and evaluation, and reporting systems and including appropriate indicators, baseline data, targets, and a plan to evaluate performance and produce timely, accurate, and complete reporting.
  • S/he will also ensure that the M&E system is used as an adaptive management tool to improve activity performance, and as a means to communicate.
  • Maintain positive relations with the client, government counterparts, and program partners;
  • Ensure project activities are compliant with the approved work plan and that project results are aligned with the project monitoring plan;
  • Provide technical and surge processes, outcome monitoring, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis for assessments, donor reporting and other processes;
  • Work with beneficiaries and Consortium partners to develop a beneficiary feedback mechanism for timely decision making, and improvements to programming;
  • Support the identification of case studies, human interest stories, and source evidence of impact and results for inclusion in progress reports and annual reports to the donor, and for upwards and downwards accountability;

Minimum Requirements:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited university in M&E.
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience in M and E, data mining, and quantitative and qualitative data analysis applicable to program in HIV and RMNCAH Projects.
  • Experience in relevant technical areas, such as survey and research tool design, data collection, statistical analysis, qualitative research, and dissemination of results.
  • Experience on the use of M&E systems to support a learning agenda and evolve a theory of change to maximize impact.
  • Experience building local capacity to develop and implement M&E systems, including working with County and subcounty level health management teams.
  • Strong knowledge and experience supporting Collaborative, Learning, and Adaptation (CLA) processes.
