Would you like to be part of a team focused on increasing adoption of Amazon Web Services by developing Public Sector accounts in East Africa? Do you have the business savvy and the technical background necessary to help establish Amazon as a key technology platform provider?

As a Public Sector Account Manager you will have the exciting opportunity to help drive the growth and shape the future of an emerging technology and increase adoption and market segment presence of the AWS Public Sector business in East Africa.

The ideal candidate will possess both a sales / account management and technical background that enables them to drive an engagement at the executive level as well as with software developers and IT architects. You will be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute against a territory coverage plan and consistently deliver results.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities
- Drive business growth and expansion in a defined territory.
- Develop and execute against a territory plan.
- Manage numerous accounts concurrently & long-term.
- Articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services.
- Accelerate customer adoption.
- Work with partners to extend reach & drive adoption.
- Ensure customer satisfaction.
- Limited travel

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience as a quota carrying technology field sales professional with a proven track record of success selling complex cloud solutions to large enterprises
• Evidenced experience in increasing technology adoption and creating long term transformational account strategies in large, complex accounts
• Proven experience working with and earning the trust of C-level executives both within IT and other lines of business
• A strong industry, customer and partner network to accelerate engagement in new to AWS organizations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Substantial technology related sales, business development, and/or sales engineering/consulting experience
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills;
- Public Sector account management experience.
- East African Experience is a plus.
