Job Description:
Develop, own and execute the company’s expansion strategy into the East African region including but not limited to Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Somalia, DRC and South Sudan.
Perform market analysis into the EA region to better understand the opportunities in each market and follow up with on-ground tactics to deliver results in line with the company’s strategy.
As a leader, understand the product suite, build relationships with stakeholders and customers to understand their needs and make decisions on areas of improvements to be prioritized for product success in the region.
You will be responsible for carrying the region’s growth quota, and will need to work with, empower and motivate your teams towards achieving growth targets.
Contribute to and align with the company’s brand, marketing and go-to-market strategies for the region and execute same.
Work with Channel Partners and the internal Channels Support structure to ensure customers are onboarded and are happy as customers while maintaining an optimal brand experience.
Coordinate with the Engineering, Product and Design team to ensure the company's product suite is optimized for the locale and the satisfaction of customers in the region.
Influence, liaise with and coordinate with any needed leader or team across the organization to achieve your team objectives.
Ensure that the company’s corporate governance practice is in good health. Maintain full compliance with all laws, rules and regulations in every country in the region including but not limited to company registration, corporate statutory remittances, corporate fillings, company audit, information security guidelines etc.
Ensure East Africa operational functions are in alignment and consistency with HQ corporate governance structure: hold periodic AGMs, maintain board relationships, hold board meetings, provide periodic reporting of sufficient quality and as at when due.
Ensure economically appropriate, best-practice and high-quality output from our relationships with service providers across legal, accounting and other consultancies/agencies.
Hire the right people for your team, picking only the best to join our team, complying fully with applicable local labour laws.
Oversee corporate finance in the region including working with the available relevant teams to cover treasury management, receivables, procurement, tax compliance etc in the region.
Own and manage the regional office budget, taking ultimate responsibility for optimizing cost and maximizing revenue through the country/regional teams.
Undertake ad hoc duties as agreed with the VP of International Expansion and the CEO.
