OPEN POSITION:
Sales Manager (Located in Nairobi with travel as necessary)

As a key member of the Sales team in the Operations department, you will oversee securing our customer acquisition and targets by keeping Victory Farms competitive and innovative. You will be responsible for maximizing our sales team potential, crafting data driven sales plans and justifying those to plans to the upper management.

Your four (4) primary responsibilities will consist of:
Hit sales target by successfully managing your sales teams
Lead your team ensuring targets are clear and means are given to achieve them
Prepare relevant reports to track revenue, costs, stock movements and improvements plans
Share market intelligence relevant to our business (competitor movements, customer insights, pricing, etc.)

You will be the primary person responsible for ensuring execution of the Commercial and Sales strategy for the company. This position requires a strong sales skill as well as a capacity to make data-driven decisions to inform operations and sales execution.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales targets

● Ensure company targets are broken down per region, branch and executed by the teams
● Motivate a team of more than 10 Regional supervisors covering more than 50 branches and over 100 staff in the Nairobi region to hit
● Identify and document sales strategies that work for difference phases of our branches (setup, additional volumes, downturns, fierce competition, etc.)

Team Management

• Organise and engage your team ensuring they stay motivated and connected
• Identify training requirements and ensure regular training is done
• Coach and mentor team members to ensure a culture of high performance and pro-active problem solving

Reporting and opex improvements
● Prepare and submit all required reports
● Track expenses for the department closely and suggest cost improvements for implementation
● Monitor stock movements in the branch network closely, identifying variances/spoilages and coming up with recommendations to improve on these

Market intelligence
● Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of competitive landscape
● Gather market data and present in a structured approach to understand market trends and dynamics and come up with actionable insights

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

● 7+ years in Sales management consistently meeting and beating targets in the food industry
● Bachelor in commerce, master etc.
● Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
● Data analytics and visualization skills
● Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
● Strong business sense and industry expertise
● Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
