Job Summary

We are an EdTech company that has published a reader series consisting of 24 books, 12 in English and 12 in Kiswahili, for children aged 5 to 11. We are looking for a Sales Manager to build and manage a sales team to successfully meet or exceed sales targets with these books across the country.

Job Description/Requirements

  1. Own ultimate responsibility for successfully meeting or exceeding sales goals
  2. Build a highly competent Sales team by identifying, recruiting and managing high quality talent that will drive the business strategy forward.
  3. Create a clear plan for the Sales department covering activity schedules, budgets, expenditures and sales goals in close cooperation with the internal teams.
  4. Analyse sales statistics to measure business growth and determine strategies for increased performance. Conduct regular check-in meetings to report on performance.
  5. Equip the sales teams with the information, tools, and resources to effectively sell our titles
  6. Process sales representatives commission reports
  7. Maintain communication with internal teams and customers regarding sales and marketing initiatives.
  8. Assess inventory stock levels and contribute to decisions around print run and replenishment
  9. Assist with individual account queries including order placement and invoicing
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and accounts


Requirements (Attach proof of this with CV or cover letter)

  1. Proven record in identifying, recruiting and nurturing sales people to meet sales targets
  2. Proven record setting targets with team members and holding team members accountable to their commitments
  3. Proven record to lead team to meet or exceed targets over a minimum of 2 years
  4. Proven record managing key customer accounts overseeing management of key accounts that deliver more than 5 million revenue per year
  5. Positive history with protocols and procedures such as reporting, participation in team activities, engagement with teams and management
  6. Minimum of 1 year in a Sales Lead role in the Education Sector
