Job Summary

Responsible for leading and managing a team of Trade Development representatives within assigned region to drive sales growth, achieve revenue targets, and ensure excellent customer satisfaction. Manager and motivate the sales team to deliver exceptional results while maintaining strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

Job Description/Requirements

1. Commercial Acumen

• Work closely with the Regional Sales Manager to implement a comprehensive sales strategy for the region.

• Implement data-driven interventions to meet sales goals.

• Develop plans for ensuring proper product assortment as per segment standards

• Allocate routes and establish sales targets for each team member to ensure maximum market coverage and revenue generation within assigned region.

• Resource Planning- Allocate, track, and negotiate for shareable resources i.e. assets, tools of work to maximize ROI

• Identify new business opportunities e.g. new markets, new clients, extra display and process the new account opening procedures

• Develop business relations with existing customers to increase sales opportunities and ensure listing, placement, and correct positioning of new products in the stores

• Oversee execution of the agreed business partners plans in every store

• Partner with the marketing team to implement effective sales campaigns, promotions, and product launches.

• Engage decision makers, users and procurement officers of relevant outlets within assigned region to sell the company’s brand over competition.

• Allocate territories and accounts to TDRs, ensuring optimal coverage and balanced workload.


2. Sales Performance Tracking and Reporting

• Track sales performance, analyze data, and prepare regular reports for the Regional Sales Manager.

• Monitor Sales within assigned channels to support inventory planning and overall business decision-making.


3. Customer Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with the outlet managers, distributors, and retailers within the region.

• Address and or escalate customer inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

• Review payment terms and propose new terms for consideration.


4. Team Leadership & Development 

• Ensure the assigned sales team complies with all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards including SFA.

• Conduct sales training and coaching sessions to enhance product knowledge and selling techniques of the sales team.

• Set clear sales targets, KPIs, and objectives for individual team members and provide regular performance feedback.

• Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training needs, and implement development plans to enhance the team's capabilities.

• Manage team leave plans and implement motivation initiatives in line with HR Goals


5. Compliance & Ethics

• Ensure all sales activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.

• Uphold the company's image and reputation in all business interactions.

• Manage the sales budget effectively, optimizing expenses while delivering results


1. Key Competencies

  •  Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and managing a successful sales team.
  •  Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  •  Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess market trends and make data-driven decisions.
  •  Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  •  Proficient in using sales analytics tools.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned region as required


2. Academic / Professional Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field


3. Work experience

  • Proven track record of at least 3 years in sales management, preferably within the ice-cream and confectionery industry or FMCG sector.


4. Leadership Experience

  • Motivated, resilient, and able to inspire and empower team members.


5. Decision-Making

  • Authority Able to make decisions within established autonomy.
