Sales/Tour Consultant

Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities
1.    Timely and professional handling of all client enquiries from overseas agents, local agents, direct clients etc. received via email or phone
2.    Booking holiday and safari packages for customers and ensuring all supplier vouchers for all booked services are confirmed and documented
3.    Tour Costing, preparing client quotations, itineraries, invoicing and following up on payments
4.    Procuring flight tickets from respective airlines as per client’s itinerary
5.    Procuring park entry tickets and requisition imprest as required for client’s files
6.    Ensuring accuracy in clients file with all relevant booking correspondences and written service confirmations are enclosed
7.    Provide briefing to driver guides on all road safaris and any other special arrangements
8.    Advising clients on travel requirements and information i.e. passport, visa, vaccination, travel insurance, foreign currency and any other info travelers might have pre-departure, during the safari and after.
9.    Relieving sales people when on leave when called upon/required to.
10.    Escalating any issues affecting clients to the line Manager to assist in resolving the problem and communicating to the agents as required.
11.    Any other duties as maybe directed

Academic and Trade Qualifications
•    Tourism related Degree/Diploma
•    Sales qualifications is desirable though not a must
•    Knowledge of a Tour/Reservation software
•    MS Office Suite
Working Experience
•    Over 5 years’ progressive hands on experience in a busy tour company handling non-resident clients, ideally KATO category A company
•    Over 5 years of experience handling high end luxury safaris in Kenya and East African Countries
•    Personally visited high end camps and lodges in Kenya and a plus if visited luxury properties in East Africa
•    Over 5 years’ experience in product knowledge of handling and selling mid to high end properties to FIT clients
•    Experience working with Tourplan and WETU system is an added advantage

•    Positive attitude and a team player
•    Excellent written and oral communication
•    Very detail oriented, organized and able to work with deadlines and effectively under pressure
•    Self-motivated and able to work independently
