Our client in the mining industry is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to enhance their financial operations and team dynamics. This role is crucial for managing customer accounts, cash flow planning, preparing financial reports, and overseeing various financial processes. Responsibilities:

Manage customer accounts: Oversee and maintain accurate records, monitor invoices and payments, and resolve inquiries.

Cash flow planning and budgeting: Develop forecasts, create annual budgets aligned with business goals, and provide recommendations for optimizing cash management.

Prepare financial management reports: Compile comprehensive reports, analyze variances, and present findings to support strategic decision-making.

Supervise weighbridge staff and procurement: Ensure compliance with operational standards, train staff, and coordinate inventory management.

Build internal controls: Establish and maintain robust systems, identify areas for improvement, conduct audits, and train staff on compliance protocols to mitigate risks.

Conduct financial analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Collaborate with external auditors: Assist in the preparation for audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.

Ensure regulatory compliance: Stay updated on financial regulations and ensure the organization adheres to all relevant laws and standards.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

10+ years of experience in accounting

Proficiency in ERP systems.

Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Working knowledge of Tax laws and Financial Reporting Standards.

Strong financial analysis skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills and a strong ability to lead and influence others.

Excellent understanding of accounting and reporting standards and procedures.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Good leadership skills with the ability to direct and supervise

Preparation of consolidated financial statements

Proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, and reporting.
