Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:-  

i. Run weekly oncology clinics and conducting ward and grand rounds;

ii. Be the second on call and train, supervise and mentor medical officers, registrars, Clinical officers and students; 

iii. Carry out oncology outreaches, health education and promotion activities; 

iv. Ensure oncology data is collected, analyzed and used for decision making; 

v. preparing medical reports for patients;

vi. Ensure leadership and stewardship of the oncology Department including chairing clinical review meetings, mortality audits, performance appraisal, quality improvement, maintenance of oncology standards and capacity building;

vii. Provide advice to the hospital and County leadership on oncology matters;  

viii. Carry out specialized oncological outreaches to the level four facilities and the community; 

ix. Ensure data collection, analysis, monitoring of trends and data use; and 

x. Take a leading role in undertaking and promoting research and development in the oncology space including uptake of new products and technologies in close collaboration with institutions of higher learning and development partners.
