4. Senior Charge Hand Mechanical, JOB GROUP CPSB 10 (1POST)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Officer at this level will be based at a small unit or depot to acquire practical experience in the various aspects of the job.
i.    He will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of mechanical, installations including diesel engines firefighting equipment, refrigeration and air conditioning plants in Public Buildings, Hospitals, Institutions and so on.
ii.    In addition, the Officer will supervise Junior Staff working under him and
iii.    Any other duties as determined by the Supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
For appointment for this grade, a Candidate must have: -
i.     The Kenya Certificate of Education Division III with a pass in Mathematics, English and Physics or Physical Science or KCSE (Mean grade D+).
ii.     Be in possession of a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized Institution.
iii.     Must have satisfactorily served for at least three (3) years in the field of Mechanical works thus acquiring wide knowledge in Mechanical and Electrical Sector.
iv.     Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity.
a)  Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation
b) Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
c)  Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
d) Clearance from the Ethics &Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
e)  Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
