Job Description

1.    Product Development (PD) & Stage-gate process

•    Taking up Product Development (PD) plans, including product feedback and improvement as well as New Product Development (NPD) and developing comprehensive project plans to ensure successful roll out
•    Applying the stage-gate process and identifying necessary steps and clearances to ensure successful passage through each stage gate
•    Tracking each PD/NPD project for follow up from multiple functions (Operations, Quality Assurance, Sales, Research Agencies, Creative Agencies etc.)
•    Conduct all necessary studies – consumer checks (internal and external) as well as technical trials (along with Operations/QA/Vendors)
•    Ensuring clearance of each tangible Concept-Product to be consumer-validated
•    Ensuring all new products meet technical and commercial parameters
•    Lead communication development for new products, with the support of the Category Executive
•    Support the Category Executive and Sales Team for developing Go-to-market plans for brand/product introductions
•    Ensure ready to launch product has adequate specifications and documentation
•    Handover of New Product launch plans with launch timelines, communication plans, communication and visibility assets and brands guidelines
•    Conduct market visits post launch to assess immediate impact and feedback

2.    Management of Current and On-going Research efforts
•    Handle all current and expected research projects, including U&A studies and other external data Conducting exploratory research and studies as per requirement and organizational strategy
•    Planning communication testing for major/focus/new brands as per priority
•    Conducting consumer Immersions on a regular basis
•    Keeping up to date with changes to legislation and new research and support QA for compliance with legal/regulatory regimes

3.    Strategic inputs
•    Work with the Marketing Team to fine-tune the Product Development pipeline
•    Sourcing new materials and ingredients, with the help of procurement and QA teams
•    Monthly report of potential new products, technologies and trends

•    Methodical approach

Education and Experience
•    Bachelor’s degree; Preferred post-graduation degree or diploma/certificate course in Marketing/Consumer behavior
•    Minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing new product development process
•    Exposure and working knowledge of one or more global NPD tools/methodology
•    Experience in managing complex product roll out featuring multiple departments/functions
