Job Description (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The International Centre for Reproductive Health (ICRH) was founded in as an answer to the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD, Cairo, ). ICRH Kenya is an independent organization established in the year . We deal with many aspects under the wide umbrella of ‘Reproductive Health’: Mother and Child Health, Sexual and Gender-based Violence, Sexually Transmitted Infections, HIV and AIDS prevention, treatment and care, Adolescent Health, improving Services in resource-poor settings that serve also the vulnerable populations… We are performing actual intervention projects and research studies. Our interventions are always coupled with a critical analysis and evidence gathering towards best practices. Whilst even the most basic research Randomized Controlled Trials we participate in will always have a social and local component. All our work is done in close collaboration with local and national health authorities and service providers. The organization is thoroughly based on local Kenyan staff at all levels, with a large majority of women. OUR VISION ICRH intends to be a centre of excellence in sexual and reproductive health research and interventions. OUR MISSION The Mission of ICRH is to contribute to improved health status of Kenyans by designing and implementing innovative, evidence – based and cost – effective research and interventions capable of influencing public policy and practice in the field of sexual and reproductive health in Kenya.Overview: We intend to employ a Senior Research Officer to be based in Nairobi. He/she will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Principal Investigators, and Co-investigators to lead in evaluating and documenting insights through qualitative methods for SRH programs being implemented at ICRH. The incumbent will lead in the development of research protocols, designing qualitative data collection tools, training and supervising field research assistants. Further, the Officer will coordinate transcribers, and conduct qualitative data analysis and summary reports. The successful candidate will coordinate field activities including recruitment, training, and supervision of research assistants; oversee data collection through Focus Group Discussions, In-depth Interviews/Key Informant Interviews, and direct observation; conduct a qualitative analysis of data and prepare study reports. Minimum Qualifications Required: Master’s degree in medical anthropology, medical sociology, public health, or a related fieldemphasizing qualitative research methods training5+ years of professional qualitative research experience3+ years conducting in-depth interviewing, focus group discussions, and participant observationKnowledge and understanding of public health issues and human subjects protocolsExperience working with stakeholders to design, author, and manage qualitative studiesStrong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal skills and a team playerStrong report-writing skillsProficiency with any of the following qualitative software: NVivo, Atlas, Nudist, and citation software such as EndNoteExcellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills requiredCoordination of multi-county studies and interventionsAble to effectively problem-solve logistical issues and self-initiate solutions. Proactively identify issues and suggest solutions on how to make projects run smoothly
