3. VACANCY NO. 03/2021:SENIOR SUPERINTENDING GEOCHEMIST (ENERGY),CSG 8 (JG N) - TWO (2) POSTS
Terms: Permanent and Pensionable
Salary: Ksh.49,000 – 87,360 p.m
House allowance: Ksh.35,000p.m
Commuter Allowance: Ksh.8,000p.m
Leave allowance: Ksh.6,000p.a

(a) Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this grade an officer must have:
i. Served in the grade of Senior Geochemist (Energy),CSG 9 for at least three (3) years or in a comparable and relevant position in the public service;
ii. Bachelor of Science degree in any of the following disciplines: Geochemistry, Geology, Chemistry, Geo-science or equivalent qualification from a University recognized in Kenya;
iii. Certificate in Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
iv. Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution; and
v. Shown merit and ability in work performance and results.

(b) Duties and responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will entail:
i. Designing and managing geochemical field projects ;
ii. Coordinating and compiling geochemical exploration reports;
iii. Implementing geochemical exploration standards and guidelines;
iv. Ensuring conformity to legislation and statutes related to geochemical exploration in geo-energy sector;
v. Analyzing geochemical samples/data;
vi. Interpreting data and preparing geochemical exploration reports;
vii. Implementing recommendations of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment reports; and
viii. Ensuring proper management of resources.
