Job Description/Requirements

JOB PURPOSE
The Primary purpose of this role is coordination, implementation and execution of assigned projects within required timelines while focusing on quality and safety. To perform various skilled tasks in the installation, maintenance, testing and repair of electrical systems under the guidance of the Project Engineer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Solution Delivery

•    Preparation of work schedule on weekly basis by anticipating the activities for the week before hand
•    Preparation of material requirements for site as per the works program
•    Recruitment of suitable personnel on site in liaison with HR Department as per the work requirements
•    Handle staff issues which include grievances and conflicts in liaison with HR department
•    Responsible for safety at the site and ensuring all staff working at the site have the required PPE
•    Ensuring all staff working on site have undergone safety induction, and that safety procedures are strictly adhered to
•    Communicate regularly with the Project Supervisor/ Engineer on material usage, reorder levels and quantities
•    Ensure permit to work are issued where necessary.
•    Assigning and monitoring performance of duties to electrician and mates
•    Responsible for the quality of works done at the site
•    Responsible for ensuring that works are done as per the works programme
•    Ensure drawings are read and interpreted correctly
•    Perform installation works and other technician roles as assigned from time to time by Project Supervisors/ Project Manager/ Project Engineer as appropriate
•    Have a clear understanding of IEE regulations and ensure any works assigned meet the required standards
•    Supervise surveys done by technicians
•    Responsible for testing and commissioning under the supervision of Project Supervisor and Project Engineer
•    Ensure that work allocated is performed within the required deadlines
•    Work within client conditions and ensure UEL image is maintained and upheld at all times
•    Ensure correct understanding of the use of tools and equipment’s by technicians
•    Accompany Project Supervisor/ Project Engineer on site inspection meetings 
•    Any other tasks as assigned to you by the management from time to time.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Qualifications include:

•    Knowledge of Electrical Installation works
•    Supervisory Skills
•    Proven working experience in electrical works
•    Solid communication skills both written and verbal
•    Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
•    Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize and work under pressure
•    KCSE or equivalent coupled with diploma in any field
•    Attention to detail
•    Teamwork and communication skills
•    Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
