Looking for a Shadow Teacher/Learning Support Assistant 

Are you passionate about education and making a difference in a child's life? Our foundation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Shadow Teacher/Learning Support Assistant to provide personalized support and guidance to a student on the autism spectrum. If you have a heart for special education and the skills to foster a supportive learning environment, this opportunity is for you! 

Key Responsibilities: 

Individualized Instruction 

• Provide one-on-one academic assistance tailored to the student's unique learning style and needs. 

• Reinforce classroom lessons, conduct pullouts from the larger learning group for individualized support, assist with homework, and prepare the student for tests. 

Support Learning Goals 

• Help the student achieve academic goals by providing targeted and strategic support. • Ensure the student understands the material and can apply it effectively. 

Behavioral Guidance 

• Implement strategies to manage and improve the student's behavior, ensuring a conducive learning environment.

• Foster positive social interactions and self-esteem. 

Adapt Teaching Methods 

• Utilize various teaching techniques to address different learning challenges. • Customize lessons to suit the student's strengths and weaknesses. 

Progress Monitoring 

• Regularly assess the student's progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly. • Provide detailed feedback to parents and teachers. 

Resource Development 

• Create and utilize engaging learning materials and activities. 

• Enhance the student's understanding and interest in subjects through innovative resources. 

Collaboration 

• Work closely with parents, teachers, and other professionals involved in the student's education. 

• Ensure a cohesive and supportive network for the student's academic journey. Flexible Scheduling 

• Provide shadow teaching at the school during school terms and a holiday program during  breaks 

Extra-curricular Activities and Therapy Sessions 

• Accompany the child to extra-curricular activities and therapy sessions.

Qualifications 

• Educational Background: Certificate/Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education  (ECDE) and Special Needs Education. 

• Certifications: Must have qualifications and certifications in ECDE and Special Needs  Education. 

• Experience: Proven experience working with children, particularly those with special educational  needs 

• Skills: Strong communication, patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude. Ability to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment. 

• Knowledge: Familiarity with various learning disabilities and strategies to address them.  Understanding of the school curriculum and teaching methodologies. 

• Being conversant with the UK curriculum would be an advantage  

• Child Protection: Must be conversant with child protection and safeguarding policies.

References 

Provide strong references from previous employers or educational institutions. Police clearance will be required by the school/parents.
