Kenya Leather Development Council (KLDC) is a State Corporation established by the Government of Kenya under the Kenya Leather Development Council Order, 2011 (Legal Notice No. 1 14 of 9th September, 201 1), under the State Cor-porations Act (Cap. 4 4 6), Laws of Kenya, to provide leadership and policy direction in regulation, production processing and marketing in leather industry so as to promote equitable development and poverty reduction.
Pursuant to this objective, the Council is seeking to recruit qualified officers for the positions of:
Position : Supply Chain Management Officer
Reporting to : Principal Supply Chain Management Officer
Job Grade : KLDC 6

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support in the Supply Chain Department.
(i) Preparing tender documents, requests for proposals, and expression of interests;
(ii) Attending to any clarifications sought by bidders;
(iii) Preparing addendums and amendments to tender documents;
(iv) Receiving and opening of tenders/quotation documents;
(v) Participating in the evaluation of tenders/quotations;
(vi) Assisting in the preparation of statutory reports;
(vii) Participating in the preparation of annual procurement and disposal plans;
(viii) Preparing and submitting procurement reports;
(ix) Implementing tender, procurement and disposal committee decisions;
(x) Undertaking inspection and acceptance of goods, works and services;
(xi) Undertaking disposal of stores and equipment;
(xii) Carry out inventory management and control;
(xiii) Carrying out periodic market surveys;
(xiv) Maintaining custody of procurement registers, files and bid documents;
(xv) Preparing and submitting tender documents for contract preparations;
(xvi) Preparing and dispatching of Local Purchase Order (LPO) and Local Service Order (LSO); and
(xvii) Participating and conducting periodic and annual stock taking.
For appointment to this grade a candidate must: -
(i) Have a Bachelors Degree in any of the following:- Procurement and Supplies Management, Procurement and Logistics, Commerce, Business Administration (Supplies Management Option), Economics, or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
(ii) Have a minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience;
(iii) Be a member of professional body either KISM or CIPS;
(iv) Be proficient in computer applications; and
(v) Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
Interested candidates are expected to fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya. Specifically, they mist obtain and submit with their application, copies of the following:
1. Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
2. Clearance/Compliance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
3. Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority
4. Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
5. Clearance from recognized Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
