Job Description

  • We are a mid-sized full service professional firm offering audit, tax, company secretarial and advisory services.

    To support our expanding tax services division at our Kisumu office, we are looking to hire pro-active and dynamic individuals for the position of Tax Manager and Assistant Tax Manager.

    Reporting to the Managing Partner, you will be responsible for:
      • Overseeing a full range of services to our clients including providing tax opinions to clients and overall handling of engagements in the areas of direct and indirect taxation including but not limited to income tax, transfer pricing, value added tax, customs and excise
      • Overseeing the handling of tax audits and investigations, and objections and appeals
      • Coordinate with the audit department to ensure statutory deadlines are met
      • Overseeing the team undertaking tax due diligence and tax health check engagements
      • Following up with the revenue authority on client issues including clients’ tax status
      • Being the liaison person on the engagement with the client including agreeing the engagement timeframe and logistics
      • Preparing regular briefs on current tax developments and changes in tax legislation
      • Build relationships and interact with dents, Kenya Revenue Authority and The National Treasury
      • Provide tax advisory services and review complex income tax returns
      • Identify and mitigate tax risks
      • Improve processes by developing or Implementing best practices to optimize our tax services
      • Assist our clients to prepare and defend tax disputes in Tax Appeal Tribunal
      • Building the tax team with new clients and services 

    • Proven work experience as a Tax Manager in a busy professional firm for at least 5 years
    • Dealing with KRA in all tax matters
    • Excellent knowledge in Kenyan law and accounting, tax compliance and all types of taxes
    • Self-driven and able to work hard and smart
    • Strong inter-personal skills
    • Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships
    • Strong leadership and personnel management skills
    • Strong analytical skills Degree in Law or Business Courses, and must be CPA-K/ACCA member in good standing
