Job Summary

The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for driving the sales of company products by creating demand through direct support to distributors, stockists, and end users (Farmers). The role involves providing technical expertise, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring the achievement of set sales targets.

Job Description/Requirements

1. Conduct product demonstrations to customers, highlighting distinctive features, advantages, benefits, pricing, and payment methods.

2. Achieve sales and collection targets as agreed with management.

3. Capture, record, and resolve farmer complaints promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.

4. Visit farms to provide technical advice to farmers, ensuring economical returns from their livestock.

5. Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, stockists, and distributors to ensure efficient product distribution to end users.

6. Develop and deliver sales presentations at seminars, workshops, farmer meetings, and field days to increase awareness of the company’s products and services.

7. Establish and maintain an efficient distribution network to ensure comprehensive product availability and achieve sales targets.

8. Provide feedback on customer business development, competitor activity, and product performance to support marketing plan development.

9. Deliver premium customer service and account management within credit control guidelines.

10. Maintain and update daily reports on product performance and customer uptake.

11. Prepare and share weekly sales reports with management, including sales plans, achievements, and challenges.

12. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  •  Strong planning, selling, and analytical skills.
  •  Team player with creativity and problem-solving abilities, especially in crisis situations.
  •  Excellent people management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  •  Strong negotiation and presentation skills with a commitment to achieving set goals.


4. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  •  Education: Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, or related fields.
  •  Experience: Minimum 3 years in technical sales within the animal feed industry.
  •  Technical Skills: Deep understanding of livestock management, livestock health, and extension services.
  •  Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities; proactive problem-solving.
  •  Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and ERPs.
  •  Other: Willingness to travel most of the times.
