Technical Sales Representative

Job Summary

Our client is a player in the renewable energy sector specifically dealing with Solar Products and Solutions. They ae looking to employ an experienced solar sales and technical specialist to the position of TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director.

  • Experience Length: 3 years

Job Description/Requirements

Key Accountabilities: -


•    Generate new business opportunities by working with new and existing customers
•    Prepare proposals, quotes, contracts, or presentations for current and potential solar customers.
•    Identify means of expanding the customer base in all operational sales areas.
•    Develop strong external relationships with key stakeholders throughout the market.
•    Ensure the accuracy of sales reports that will inform senior management decision making efforts, whilst supporting the direct sales agents.
•    Support the sales team as well as distribution and contractor customers with project designs and estimates
•    Creation and implementation of sales tools, processes and marketing and sales materials.
•    Attend and help promote solar products and business at trade shows
•    Develop and execute training programs for solar products as required

•    Provide technical expertise on solar products, including the design and installation of all solar products and systems
•    Develop and deliver customer training for product application and design for all solar products
•    Support customers in the field with installation and provide input on field tests, training and feedback
•    Maintain an understanding of solar product and system functionality and failure modes in order to troubleshoot system issues and advise on warranty claims.

Key Skills and Competencies
•    University Degree in Science, Engineering, Marketing or equivalent
•    Minimum of 3 years of work experience preferably in technical sales or product application roles.
•    Understanding of solar products, their functionality and how they interact to form a system.
•    Those with EPRA solar technician licenses will have an added advantage.
•    Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse customer base.
•    Ability to analyze, summarize and effectively present data & reports.
•    Organization and ability to keep a wide variety of work well documented.
•    Must be efficient and capable of multitasking.
•    Excellent Computer Skills
