Technical Support Intern

The Institute invites applicants to fill the vacant position of a Technical Support Intern.

Salary: Ksh. 20,000.

Duties and Responsibilities
1.    Network Infrastructure Maintenance.
2.    Check, test and Backups and at the same time ensure adherence to back up policy.
3.    Ensure Servers/systems availability at all times.
4.    Monitor/Maintain company generator where applicable.
5.    Ensure company Telephone works properly.
6.    Carry out routine computer service and Maintenance.
7.    Maintain Users in active directory.
8.    Ensure Adherence to proper internet usage.
9.    Software Installation and configurations.
10.    Ensure all computers in the network have been properly patched and have latest antivirus updates.
11.    Database Administration.
12.    Helpdesk support to both internal and external clients.
13.    Creating test/simulation environments for different scenarios for internal use as well as clients.
14.    Liaise with external services providers to ensure SLAs are met.
15.    Fault reporting, both internally and externally and escalation to relevant departments or service providers.
16.    Adhere to ISO 27001:2017 standards.
17.    Maintenance of CCTV cameras.
18.    Maintenance of biometrics.

Skills & Qualifications
o    Diploma/ Bachelors’ degree in Computer science or related field.
o    1 year of proven work experience in the following:
o    Windows Server 2019

  •    DHCP
  •    DNS
  •    File Storage
  •    LDAP
o    Linux
  •    RHEL/Centos 7&8
  •    LDAP
  •    Linux Administration
o    Networking
o    Telephony Voip Basic
o    CCTV Management
o    Oracle 10g, 11g, 12c
  •    Administrator
  •    Developer
  •    Weblogic
