As an undercover operative, you’ll be tasked with establishing and building relationships with the would-be fraudsters engaging in theft in order to gain information amidst the company’s operations.
Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly research the conduct of the salespeople, and the cashiers’ behavior while handling cash to bring out clearly their intentions of defrauding the company.
- You will attend operational briefings to identify, receive and agree to the objectives of the operations and carry out extensive risk assessments on the sales team.
- You will work disguised as a salesperson while ensuring the safety and success of the undercover activities.
- You will be required to form appropriate relationships with individuals involved in criminal activity to help maintain cover whilst delivering on the objectives of the investigation.
- Gather, corroborate, and handle intelligence and evidence with transparency and integrity to support potential legal proceedings.
- Work effectively with other undercover operatives and surveillance teams to ensure your own and other people’s safety at all times.
- You will be required to relate well with all employees, stakeholders, and shareholders at all times by way of excellent interpersonal skills.
- Identifying potential loopholes for fraud or theft avenues at the workstation, proposing solutions, and reporting them for action.
- Monitoring public areas for potential threats and do timely reports to management.
- You will be required to ensure reliable operations throughout all shifts. No delays in opening and closing of shifts, immediately report any issues that might halt operations.
- You will monitor displays and changing rooms, to avert opportunities for stealing merchandise.
- Reviewing inventory, and stock and investigating suspected pilferage by staff and the public.
- Help to develop controls, checks, and security policies that will govern the operations at the workplace.
Educational qualifications:
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
- Diploma in criminology
- 5 years and above experience in a similar role

- Excellent command of both English and Swahili languages
