Job Description/Requirements
A. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, LIVESTOCK AND FISHERIES
9. Veterinary Officer (JOB GROUP CPSB 08) (3 POSTS)
This will be the entry and Training Grade into this Cadre. An Officer at this level will work under the guidance of a Senior Officer. He/she will report to the Sub-County Veterinary Officer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Undertaking disease control activities such as disease search, vaccination and enforcement of livestock movement regulations
ii. Participating in the training of Stakeholders in vector control programmes, treating sick animal, advising on good veterinary practices.
iii. Collecting data and preparing reports on Animal Health, products and markets
iv. Providing advice on Animal breeding and welfare.
v. Undertaking post-mortem examination and other diagnostic tests.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
For appointment to this Grade, a Candidate must: -
i. Be in possession of a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) Degree from a recognized Institution.
ii. Be registered by the Kenya Veterinary Board and
iii. Have a Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized Institution.
iv. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity.
a) Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation
b) Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
c) Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
d) Clearance from the Ethics &Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
e) Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
