Job Description (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Humanity for Sustainable Development (H4SD) is an incorporated not-for-profit community-based organization that provides high-quality educational support to underserved communities in rural Kenya. H4SD is registered with the Department of Social Services. We believe that quality education should be free and available to all, regardless of age, tribe, religion, and socioeconomic standing. We believe that quality education is essential for social mobility and can help alleviate poverty and economic and gender inequality, thus providing equal access to available opportunities. We focus on providing quality education to underprivileged children in (ECDE), primary, secondary, street, tertiary/technical, and community settings by offering educational opportunities such as learning resources and infrastructure. OUR BELIEFS We believe that Quality education is key to social mobility and can thus help reduce poverty and [income& gender] inequality thus offering equal access to available opportunities for all.Responsibilities: Design and develop educational materials, lesson plans, and curricula for students in various subjects and grade levelsDeliver engaging and interactive online or in-person classes, workshops, and training sessions to students in underserved communitiesCollaborate with H4SD staff, volunteers, and partners to ensure the quality and relevance of educational materials and programsAssess student progress and provide feedback, support, and mentorship to facilitate their learning and developmentStay up-to-date with educational trends, methodologies, and best practices, and incorporate them into H4SD’s programsParticipate in training sessions and professional development opportunities provided by H4SDAssist with program evaluation and impact assessment activities Requirements: Passion for education and social impactExperience in teaching, tutoring, or curriculum developmentSubject matter expertise in one or more areas, such as STEM, literacy, languages, or social sciencesAbility to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individualsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsFlexibility and adaptability to changing program needs and requirementsFluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages is a plusOpen to students from Europe, UK, and Australia who are currently on their gap year
