Key Responsibilities:
Technical Capacity Development
Will be done through hands-on experience and job shadowing under the coaching of the designated supervisors.
The supervisors, technical experts in the same field as the GRIP Participant (Intern), together with the intern will develop a coaching agreement based on the duties outlined in the supervisor’s job description and performance agreement.
Once in a while, when the budget allows, the intern may participate in the WVK staff training and workshops as deemed relevant by the supervisor (technical induction package will be used alongside this TOR )
Performance Coaching
The performance of the interns will be monitored closely by their respective supervisors in line with the WVK performance Management System. A tailored coaching agreement will be done. Interns will be required to submit a quarterly report to their supervisor and copy to the GRIP coordinator
Quarterly Training and Review Meetings
Four Quarterly Training and Review Meetings will be held during the internship program coordinated by the People and Culture team as follows but not limited to: -
Quarter 1- Orientation Week (September/October)
Quarter 2- Self Awareness & Teamwork(February)
Quarter 3- Personal Branding (June)
Quarter 4- Career Development and Life Balance(September
Eligibility Criteria
Those eligible to apply for graduate internship programme shall be Kenyan citizens who meet the following criteria;
Bachelor’s degree graduates who either are beneficiaries of child sponsorship, or have experienced the impact of WV’s community development in their homes will be given priority rating.
Graduates who show genuine desire to serve among the poor in rural and semi urban areas of Kenya.
Graduates who are practicing Christians regardless of denomination, gender and ethnic background.
Graduates with demonstrated good character, honesty, high competency and generally in good physical and emotional health.
Graduates who are willing to commit their time on the project for the entire year.
Graduates who have completed studies in a relevant field of study as identified by WVK programs within the current year (2023/24). For the Year 2023/24, recent university graduates from the following specific areas of study are eligible to apply:
