Job Description/Requirements
Department : Production
Site : Mineral Plant
Reports to : Plant Manager
Supervises : Premix Plant Operator, Licks Plant Operator, Batching Operator and Outsourced staff
JOB PURPOSE:
To Coordinate production activities and ensure availability of high-quality products produced at optimum cost in a safe environment by highly motivated staff.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum Requirements:
1. Degree in Animal Health/Production /Engineering/Food Science or related field
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a busy manufacturing environment Preferably at supervisory level
3. Knowledge of ISO 22000 & Biosecurity Controls are an added advantage
4. Competent in problem solving, planning and decision-making skills
5. Computer proficiency
6. Ability to work with minimal supervision
7. Ability to maintain confidential information

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND KEY RESULTS:
Production planning
1. Ensuring that quality Finished goods are produced and availed in the warehouse based on Time in Full and Error Free within each shift (Both physical and SAP)
2. Liaise WITH Finished Goods Supervisor to develop a production schedule based on Customer requirements
3. Liaise with RMPM Supervisor to ensure required Raw and Packing Materials are availed to support a smooth execution of the production schedule
4. Ensure proper shift planning to avail required human resource as per the production plan manage the leave & off burden
5. Analyzing raw data generated by production teams and creating accurate and timely reports as appropriate. (Operations BMR etc.)
6. In liaison with Maintenance Supervisor ensure availability of plant and machinery for proper maintenance.
Production Efficiencies
1. Ensure optimal machine utilization, adhering to the throughputs, and machine capacities as well as efficiencies at >85%.
2. Conduct an onboarding and training for the all employees to increase TWI score thus to reduce process variations.
3. Ensure CI (AM/TPM/CBM) activities are done as scheduled to maintain optimal machine performance.
4. Monitor machine performance and conduct root cause analysis where there is gaps and take corrective actions.
5. Ensure production activities are done in line with budgeted cost.
6. Ensure Production KPIs are achieved within quality specifications.
Feed Safety, SHE & PaTaMu Activities
1. Ensuring FSMS (ISO 22000) and production process controls are practiced and audit citations on the same are closed.
2. Periodic review of customer feedback & coordinate Integration into production system to ensure Continual improvement of quality products
3. Collating and analyzing performance data and charts against defined parameters for continual improvement.
4. Driving root causes analysis initiatives on all non–conformities and customer complaints and following up to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
5. Support and actively participate in SHE, PaTaMu, ERM initiatives and objectives as planned in the Plant.
6. Promoting Safety & Health of all workers and equipment in the mill.
7. Identify and report all quality and food safety issues during daily operations.
Production Reporting
1. Daily review of production reconciliations to reduce Inventory & Production variance
2. Maintaining up to date formulations & ensure timely cost updates for all the materials in SAP
3. Ensure real time and accurate posting/receipts of raw materials, premixes, packing material and finished goods in SAP.
4. Collect and collate data through the month and prepare accurate error free daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
5. Prepare timely and accurate production monthly valuation report following an effective stock take.
Employee Development and Capacity Building
1. Conducting monthly production performance reviews
2. Conducting training need analysis and ensure necessary trainings are done.
3. Coaching and mentoring to develop reports.
4. Regularly conduct face to face session and ensure timely closure of action
5. In liaison with HR, prepare and implement employee personal development plans.

Plant Manager - All aspects of Plant operations.
RMPM Supervisor - Raw material and packing material requisition and issuance.
FG warehouse and Distribution Supervisor - Kanban requirements/Customer order.
Plant Accountant - Stock reconciliation and valuation.
HRA and HRBP - Labour provision, employee relations, policy advisory.
Quality Assurance Officer – Raw & Packing material and FG specifications.
