About the Role
DT Global is seeking expression of interest from qualified candidates for the role of a Regional Coordinator for the ongoing Jiinue Growth Program (JGP). The Regional Coordinator will be responsible for planning and coordinating capacity building activities to targeted youth and women micro-entrepreneurs in a cluster of approximately four to six counties within Kenya.
The position will entail coverage of an extensive geographical area/multiple counties that may require you to occasionally spend outside your area of residence.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities:
·Oversee the smooth implementation of the JGP program's technical assistance activities at the regional level (a level of approximately 5 counties).
·Monitor and evaluate the various activities involved in the program, i.e., training, mentorship, and other technical assistance activities in the assigned region.
·Manage relationships at the regional and county levels and collaborating with partners working together in JGP.
·Support the financial inclusion of MSMEs through ensuring that the uptake and consumption of the JGP financial products.
·Resolve issues relating to the program and the staff at the regional level.
·Communicate information pertaining to the program objectives and goals to the regional partners/stakeholders.
·Conduct performance appraisal for the staff within the region.
·Conduct and support refresher training and TOTs for the new and existing staff.
·Prepare regional report on the progress of the program in areas relating to training, mentorship, coaching, etc.
·Support in the recruitment and induction of the trainers into the program.
·Support in the claim processes and oversee proper utilization of the program budget by JGP trainers (JETs).
·Oversee proper utilization of the resources at the regional level which support in the implementation of the program.
·Ensure the program guidelines and policies are adhered to.
·Support in the documentation of program success.
About You
Selection Criteria:
Qualifications:
·University degree preferably in commerce related course; business management or entrepreneurship.
·A master’s degree is desirable.
·Other business-related professional qualifications are an added advantage.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
·At least 10 years of experience working with micro-enterprises and offering advisory/technical assistance/capacity building.
·At least 5 years of experience as a senior trainer or supervisor of trainers/mentors/coaches.
·Experience in preparing training curricular and manuals for micro-enterprises.
·Training and facilitation skills – International Labor Organization (ILO) Certification or any other global best practice training/mentorship/coaching certification.
·Experience in facilitation of ToTs.
·Experience in supporting access to finance/financial inclusion of youth and women-led micro-enterprises.
·Good mastery of English, Swahili and at least one local language in the indicated preferred region of deployment.
·Leadership skills.
·Team player.
·Self-motivated.
·Organized with good planning skills.
·Passion for youth economic empowerment.
