JOB SUMMARY

Requirements:The Aquatics Manager shall have Instructor Certification as a lifeguard or water safety instructor in accordance with MWR PolicyUndergraduate or Graduate Education with a major in General Recreation or one of the appropriate fields or recreation related to the position or at least one-year specialized experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Shall possess and maintain CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers (CPRO) through the American Red Cross and Aquatic Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operator (NAVMED 5010-4). Must have at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.Must possess a Red Cross CPR CertificationPrevious work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.Valid country driver's license and passport.Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Serves as the aquatics manager responsible for managing and supervising the aquatic programs for an FMWR activity.Assist the program manager with a wide variety of management and administrative tasks associated with operating a fully functional activity that is safe and enjoyable for all participants.Participates in and or leads the planning process that results in providing a wide range of fairly typical, conventional and well-established basic aquatic activities.Conducts all the necessary coordination of various details for reoccurring and nonrecurring aquatic, fitness, instructional, and joint community programs.Interviews and selects staff and provides orientation, training and supervision. Provides leadership, direction, management and analysis of all aspects of the program as required.
