Job Description/Requirements
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, ICT AND HUMAN CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT
1. ASSISTANT ECDE TEACHER III - JG CPSB 13 — REF. NO. KUSB/01/2021101 (86 POSTS)
This is the entry and training grade for officers in this cadre. A teacher at this level will work under the guidance of a more senior teacher' to perform the following duties:
Terms of service: Three (3) years' Contract
Duties and Responsibilities
i. Teaching;
ii. Role modelling, guidance and counseling, mentoring and motivation of learners;
iii. Preparation of reports;
iv. Ensuring safety and security of learners;
v. Assist in developing, organizing and facilitating playing/learning activities;
vi. Caring and nurturing spiritual. moral, social, mental, physical, aesthetic and emotional growth of the learners (holistic development);
vii. Managing ECDE classes and keeping professional and administration records (schemes of work, lesson plans, daily program of activities, attendance register etc.) viii. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this position, a person should:
i. Be a Kenyan Citizen
ii. Have a minimum grade of D (Plain) in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or KCE Division IV
iii. A Certificate in Early Childhood Development Education from the Kenya National Examination's Council (KNEC) or other examination body approved by the Ministry of Education.
iv. Be conversant with the ECDE syllabus and curriculum delivery Meet the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution
Salaries are as determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
