ABOUT THE COMPANY

Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization committed to child education, community development, and emergency relief projects in 35 countries around the world. We have fundraising offices in the USA, Korea, and Japan, and an International Cooperation Office in Geneva.

JOB SUMMARY

The Auditor will be responsible for reviewing monthly financial reports from the country offices of Good Neighbors, ensuring compliance with organizational and donor requirements, identifying risks, and providing feedback for continuous improvement. The role requires strong technical skills in auditing and financial analysis, as well as the ability to travel abroad for on-site reviews and capacity-building support.Required Qualifications and ExperienceCertified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification (ACCA).Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in auditing, preferably in international NGOs or multinational organizations.Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with QuickBooks accounting software.Demonstrated knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), GenerallyAccepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).Proven ability to analyze financial data, identify risks, and propose corrective actions.Excellent communication and report writing skills in English (French or Portuguese is an added advantage).Proficiency in MS Excel and other financial analysis tools.Valid passport and willingness to travel frequently across African countries.High level of integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Review and verify monthly financial reports submitted by country offices, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational policies.Provide timely feedback and recommendations to country finance teams.Conduct risk-based audits and financial reviews of country programs, both remotely and through field visits.Assess the effectiveness of internal control systems and recommend improvements.Ensure proper use of the QuickBooks accounting system and review its application across country offices.Monitor compliance with donor requirements, organizational policies, and international accounting standards.Prepare audit reports with clear findings, risks, and actionable recommendations.Support capacity building of finance staff in country offices through training and mentoring.Liaise with external auditors and ensure audit readiness of country offices.Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
