JOB SUMMARY

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assemble and disassemble work rolls, backup rolls, and chocks in accordance with standard procedures and rolling schedule requirements.Inspect bearings, chocks, seals, and other components for wear, fatigue, or damage using appropriate measuring tools (micrometers, dial indicators, etc.) and replace worn-out/missing parts as necessary.Clean, lubricate, and replace worn-out parts, including bearings, seals, and locking elements as per preventive maintenance schedules.Install and align rolls and bearing assemblies on the mill stands, ensuring correct positioning and preload.Shot blasting of rollsMaintain detailed records of bearing usage, roll performance, and maintenance history.Operate hydraulic presses and heating/cooling systems used in bearing mounting/dismounting processes.Ensure all tasks comply with safety regulations and standard operating procedures (SOPs).Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to diagnose equipment issues and propose corrective actions.Assist in inventory control of spare parts related to roll assemblies and bearings.Participate in equipment upgrades, retrofits, and reliability improvement initiatives.
