Business Analyst – Data Science Management & Portfolio Analysis at I&M Bank

Job Description

I&M Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of I&M Holdings Limited, a publicly quoted company at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE). The bank possesses a rich heritage in banking.

Primary responsibilities:

Obtain and compile requisite data from various sources data for analysis and interpretation to achieve desired departmental goals / metrics relating to product efficiency, customer satisfaction, performance targets [both financial and operational). Follow up on revenue leakage and assurance activities to conclusion and prepare departmental reports as necessary. Automate data analysis and reporting to ensure there is timely delivery of sales reports and other MI needed for decision-making. Mine and analyze data from bank’s databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies. Work with data analytics team members, develop capability to produce relevant Ad Hoc reports that meet Transactional Banking teams MI requirements. Develop easy to understand MI reports for Transactional Banking and Relationship teams across the segments to gain deep understanding of their business that will assist them drive growth and profitability. Perform regular data analysis to uncover revenue opportunities and identify income leakages. Such opportunities include cross sell and upsell opportunities, campaigns etc. Develop predictive modelling to increase and optimize customer experiences, to foretell and avert attrition, increase revenue generation, and guide marketing campaigns. Lead in training programs to up skill the team on modern data analytics methods. Through regular trainings, aligning frontline to achieve desired productivity. Track waivers and conditions used to justify and if still valid for renewal. Conduct detailed segmented reporting of revenue and volumes by, product lines, per Segment, per RM, per Branch etc. Track departmental budgets against expenditure and provide monthly and Ad hoc reports on the same.

Minimum requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a business or Information Technology related field. 5+ years banking or Fintech experience or equivalent. Experience in usage of advanced analytics tools including advanced Excel, Power BI, VBA, SQL, Python, R and other data analysis tools. Accounting or IT course and experience will be an added advantage.
