Cake Decorator

The decorator will create, execute, and develop recipes, do quality checks on ingredients and finished items, enhance item presentation with icing, glazes, fillings, and decorations, and process customer orders. Additionally, the decorator must make sure that hygiene is maintained at all times during the baking and decoration process.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and improving recipes to suit the client needs

• Measuring and combining ingredients and using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment to make baked goods, such as cookies, bread, cakes, etc.

• Decorate baked products using glaze, fondant icing, Buttercream and edible toppings

• Testing ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality controls.

• Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.

• Ensure profitability by maintain an accurate record of baking and decorating operations 

Qualifications

• Certificate or  Diploma in Baking and Pastry or Equivalent

• Must have Experience with cake baking and decoration especially fondant technique. Wedding and occasional cakes.  Must also be good in edible flower making.

• Strong communication, excellent time and resource management, and planning skills.

• Must have Artistic and Creative Nature. This will help him/her to work on unique wedding, birthday and Occasional cake for clients.

• Attention to detail, especially when performing quality inspections on ingredients and products.

• Basic math and computer skills 

• Willingness to work independently or with other team members to solve problems, plan schedules, fulfill orders, and create amazing baked goods.

• Flexibility to work around customer demands, including early morning, night, weekend, and holiday availability.

• Ability to work with team members to solve problem

• Ability to work in a hot, hectic environment; stand, walk, bend, use hands and appliances; and lift heavy items for extended periods
