(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Education Sub Saharan Africa (ESSA) is a charity improving education in sub-Saharan Africa so that young people achieve their ambitions and strengthen society. We support university and college leaders, employers, policymakers, and young people to turn evidence into practical solutions and maximize resources. By working together, we improve education policies and delivery. Our goal is to increase access to university or college, improve the quality of education, and enable young people to transition into work. This will support more than 1.4 million current students at over universities and colleges in Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, and Zambia to achieve their ambitions, and create more opportunities for the millions that will follow.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Assist in targeting social media audiences and engagement efforts. Assist in finding new opportunities for promoting digital platforms, such as the African Scholarship Hub. Help monitor ESSA’s digital platforms, such as the African Education Research Database to ensure it is functioning. Assist in gathering relevant media contacts, keeping track of media coverage and creating regular reports summarising key insights. Assist in the planning and execution of both virtual and in-person events. Help develop visually appealing and compelling social media content (e.g., graphics, images, and videos)PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL
Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field. Candidates with diploma-level qualifications will also be considered.
Skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a focus on clarity, structure, and professionalism. Strong writing and editing skills. Attentive to details. Basic skills in Adobe Suite (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign/Illustrator) or equivalent software. Basic skills in video production and photography. Passion for improving education for young people in sub-Saharan Africa. Commitment to values of equality, diversity, and inclusion. Ability to work independently, manage workload, and prioritize effectively. Proficiency in a range of IT packages, including Office . Experience with databases (e.g., Excel) would be helpful.
