Job Description
The Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) is a body corporate established under The Nurses Act (Cap ) of the Laws of Kenya, whose mandate is to regulate Nursing Education and Practice.

Overall purpose
The Director Corporate Services is responsible for providing strategic leadership, expert advice and input to the Council to ensure optimal utilization and management of the Council resources in the areas of Finance and Accounts; ICT, Huma Resource (HR) Administration, Communication & Advocacy to enable the Council to effectively perform its mandate.
Duties and responsibilities
Advising management on policies and strategies that relate to corporate services; Coordinating HR & Administration, ICT and Finance & Accounts activities; Initiating formulation and development of policies and procedure in the HR & Administration, ICT and Finance & Accounts Ensuring financial prudence and discipline for Financial Accounting, Planning, treasury management and budgetary controls in compliance with PFM Act and IPSAS; Coordinating performance appraisals Advising management on all matters pertaining to Finance and Accounts, HR& Administration and ICT operations in NCK Preparing annual operating and capital budgets Coordinating the Department’s operations and overall administration so as to ensure that the Department operates in conformity with overall performance targets; Liaising with auditors on all financial statements reports and matters relating to management letter on all final audit queries; Overseeing implementation of human resource and development programs Coordinating staff medical scheme, pension scheme and other staff welfare issues Assisting management in aligning the HR strategy to the Organization Strategy including succession management Coordinating human resource development; Payroll management Oversee development of ICT strategy to support business continuity; Provide leadership in leveraging ICT for efficient service delivery; Oversee the implementation and maintenance of technology infrastructure in line with changing technologies Creating an enabling ICT to promote and implement ICT operations Advise the Council and management on all ICT matters Align ICT policies and strategy to the NCK mandateQualifications and Person specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
Bachelor’s degree in either Commerce. Business Administration, Human Resource Management, ICT or related field: Master’s degree in either Commerce, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, ICT or related field Membership of a professional body and in good standing Leadership course lasting not less than four weeks; At least Twelve years’ work experience with at least three years’ experience in senior management Proficiency in computer applications Fulfil the requirements of Chapter 6 of the ConstitutionDesirable qualities
