Job Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of their international client in the manufacturing industry is seeking
a skilled and experienced Double Backer Operator to join our corrugated production team. This
role is vital to maintaining high-quality corrugated board output by efficiently operating and
monitoring double backer machinery. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in corrugated
board making, preferably with BHS equipment, and a strong technical understanding of the
production process.

Key Responsibilities
• Operate and adjust the double backer machine according to production schedules and quality
requirements.
• Ensure accurate feeding and alignment of paper rolls during production runs.
• Monitor machine performance and board quality, making adjustments to tension, glue
application, warp control, and other settings as needed.
• Detect and report production irregularities, quality defects, or mechanical issues to maintenance
and supervisors.
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping to ensure optimum equipment performance.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, and safety records.
• Adhere to all safety and ISO standards on the shop floor.

Qualifications
✓ Technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
✓ Prior experience as a corrugator operator, preferably on BHS corrugating systems.
✓ Demonstrated technical understanding of the board-making process.
✓ Experience with quality control methods and continuous improvement practices.
✓ Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
✓ Ability to read production documents and interpret basic technical instructions.
