Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:-

• Collecting and recording petroleum engineering data on drilling, production, and reservoir performance;
• Participating in petroleum drilling and related engineering work programs for designated projects;
• Participating in petroleum resource evaluation;
• Participating in measurement and calibration of downhole parameters including temperature, flow rate, and pressure of oil and gas; and
• Monitoring installation, operation, and maintenance of petroleum engineering equipment and facilities.

For appointment to this grade

A candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines from a university recognized in Kenya: 

• Engineering, 
• Petroleum Engineering Technology, 
• Civil Engineering, 
• Chemical Engineering, 
• Geological Engineering, 
• Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering or Technology (Chemical Engineering)
