Job Description/Requirements
We are an horticulture farm based in Aboke village, West Ugenya in Ugenya Ward in Sub County of Siaya County. The farm promotes production, sorting, packaging of chilli for local and export markets. The farm is seeking to on-board the support of 6 Agriculture students on a Three (3) Months Industrial-Attachment from a corgnized government agricultural institution. Â
Desired Qualifications:
• Certificate or Diploma in Agricultural Extension and Community Development/ General agriculture.
• Good understanding of farm record keeping skills and knowledge
• Good communication skills
• Good community mobilization skills
• teaching skills
• Marketing skills
• Good negotiation skills
• Good knowledge of chilly production
• knowledge of how to use and maintain farm equipment and machinery.
• practical skills for tasks such as fencing.
• Good team work skills
Responsibilities.
• Mobilization of farmers
• Training of farmersÂ
• Keep farm records
• Marketing of the farm produce
• Maintain farm production and sales recordsÂ
• Nursery establishment and management
• Assist with all aspects of crop farming, including planting, spraying, harvest and post-harvest management
• Assist in the planting and harvesting of crops
• Carry out Post-harvest management practices and activities for the farm produce
• Marketing of the farm produce and by-products
• Any other activity as may be assigned by the farm managerÂ
