ABOUT THE COMPANY
Mombasa Water Supply & Sanitation Company Limited is a limited liability company that was established in March 2011. The company took over the operations of water and sewerage services provision in Mombasa County as from 1st September, 2005. This was after finalizing negotiations on the water Service Agreement with the Coast Water Services Board and appointing the first Board of Directors
JOB SUMMARY
Monitor the performance of the company and advise management in terms of costs andprofitability through the preparation of timely management accounts and reports thatguide management decisions.Academic QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Commerce- Finance of Accounting OptionProfessional Qualification• CPA (K)• Membership with ICPAK or any relevant body.ExperienceAt least 7 years’ experience, three of which must be at a supervisory level priorexperience in managing a unit in a large and busy environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, andboard accounts and reports.• Formulate costing and revenue policies and systems and ensure theaccounting of all costs incurred and revenue collected.• Advise management on revenue and costing issues.• Prepare timely and accurate financial budgets and forecasts by consolidatingindividual department budgets.• Consolidate costs and revenues and extract management information formanagement decision making.• Analyse the business’ financial and general operating information to identifytrends and opportunities for investment/development.• Analyse budget and other financial variances (such as product margins) andadvise the GM Finance accordingly.• Provide financial information to senior management, including monthly,management/financial accounts and budget reports.• Review investment proposals to determine their viability.• Assess the impact of changes in pricing, consumption volumes, and costs onprofitability.• Evaluate non-financial indicators, such as stock turnover and report on theireffect on business performance and profitability.• Evaluate assets and investments as and when necessary.• Provide forecasts and projections of future cash flow for the business.• Monitor costs such as wages, materials and equipment.• Identify areas of the business where inefficiencies occur
