JOB SUMMARY
Knowledge & SkillsKnowledge of equipment safety, maintenance, and storageAnalytical and problem-solving skillsAbility understand equipment load charts and coordinate earth movement to standard of projectAdditional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignmentExperience & EducationThree (3) years’ of experience operating earth moving equipmentHigh School Diploma or equivalentEquipment operator training and certificate from National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) or verifiable military or civilian equipment operator training from construction field preferredValid Driver’s LicenseAdditional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment.Physical Requirements/Working EnvironmentAbility to lift fifty (50) pounds, bend, stoop, and work safely around equipment, materials, supplies, and other items to be handledLiving and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortableLong hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditionsPersonnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate earth moving equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life; equipment may include, but is not limited to: motor grader, frontend loader, backhoe, excavator, vibratory roller, water truck, ditch witch trencher, or bobcat skidsteer/tracksteerInspect, clean, and perform operator level maintenance on equipment in accordance with standardsInteract with the customer for movement of materials and equipmentPerform daily safety checks to ensure equipment is in safe operating conditionFollow related safety regulations, contract requirements, company policies, and operating proceduresEnsure equipment is properly utilized, maintained, and storedComplete necessary documentation, reporting, and limited office dutiesPerform other related duties as assigned
