Job Purpose/Summary

The HSE Officer will be responsible and accountable for the developing, improving, and conducting site HS&E programs, training, audits, observations, risk assessments, incident investigations and case management for RA International.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, improve and conduct site HS&E programs, training, audits, Observations, risk assessments, incident investigations and case management.
  • Provide strategic direction to site leadership on HSE issues and opportunities.
  • Provide HSE coaching and mentoring for the site.
  • Validate implementation and ensure integrity of site HSEMS.
  • Participate in project planning and change management activities to identify issues and opportunities.
  • Analyze site trends and root causes to present plans and suggestions to improve controls.
  • Identify corrective actions for incidents, audits, trends and other findings based on research and best demonstrated practices.
  • Ensure local legal, business and client requirements are met.
  • Create simple communications for op areas and operational levels.
  • Develop or revise local HS&E policies and procedure.
  • Participate and possibly lead divisional focus and audit teams.
  • Prepare local HS&E budget and provide input for site requirements.
  • Work with divisional peers on development of processes and initiatives.
  • Interpret MSDS information to make proper determination of such things as PPE.
  • Maintain and submit monthly internal and external statistics and reports for the site.
  • Coordinate milestone and recognition programs.
  • Communicate with external customers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Safety, Safety/Health, Engineering or Technology or Industry equivalent.
  • Must have at least 8 years hands-on experience in continuous improvement of HSE environmental safety, facilitation or coordination.
