Reports To: Regional Coordinator
Gross Salary: ZMW 9,630 per month
Role Purpose
Talent Grid Africa, on behalf of a fast-growing solar energy company dedicated to powering underserved communities across Sub-Saharan Africa is hiring Hub Managers. The Hub Managers will be frontline operational leaders responsible for establishing and scaling the company's presence in new markets. The Hub Managers will oversee the entire expansion journey from validating market demand and launching new hubs to driving customer growth, operational excellence, and profitability. The Hub Managers will be responsible for building local teams, recruiting and developing the company Stars, driving customer acquisition, and ensuring strong community engagement. This position requires a highly adaptable individual who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex challenges, and is passionate about renewable energy and economic empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the end-to-end launch process for new company hubs, from market validation through
operational go-live.
• Identify and secure suitable hub locations in approved expansion markets.
• Coordinate hub setup activities and ensure successful operational readiness.
• Act as a key representative of the company within local communities.
• Execute aggressive field-based customer acquisition initiatives.
• Lead door-to-door sales campaigns and community outreach activities.
• Achieve and maintain a target of at least 150 active members within eight weeks of hub launch.
• Develop localized sales strategies that resonate with target communities.
• Build strong customer relationships to drive loyalty and repeat usage.
• Proactively engage inactive or churned customers and implement retention initiatives.
• Address customer concerns promptly and ensure a positive customer experience.
• Monitor customer feedback and recommend service improvements.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor Hub Managers and company Stars.
• Build high-performing field teams capable of achieving operational and sales targets.
• Provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and professional development support.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee day-to-day hub operations to ensure efficiency and service reliability.
• Drive hub growth toward long-term profitability and sustainability.
• Ensure operational processes, inventory controls, and service standards are consistently
maintained.
• Monitor performance indicators and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Collaborate closely with Field Service Engineers to support technical operations.
• Ensure timely resolution of technical issues affecting customer experience.
• Support hub commissioning and operational readiness activities.
• Escalate technical challenges appropriately to maintain service continuity.
• Gather and document customer insights, market trends, and competitive intelligence.
• Identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement.
• Build strong relationships with community leaders and key stakeholders.
• Adapt business strategies to align with local cultural and market dynamics.
• Track customer acquisition, retention, operational, and profitability metrics.
• Utilize data-driven decision-making to improve performance outcomes.
• Prepare and submit regular performance reports to the Regional Coordinator.
• Recommend process enhancements based on field observations and performance analysis.
Key Requirements
✓ Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales Management,
Entrepreneurship, Community Development, Renewable Energy, or any other related field.
✓ 3–5 years of proven experience in field sales, customer acquisition, business development, or
customer experience management.
✓ Demonstrated success in achieving sales and growth targets.
✓ Experience managing, coaching, or leading field-based teams.
✓ Experience working in rural or underserved communities is an added advantage.
✓ Previous experience in renewable energy, telecommunications, FMCG, microfinance, or community-based operations is desirable.
