Their service delivery is anchored on compassion, care, and clinical competence, and they are known for investing in innovation and operational excellence to deliver comprehensive healthcare solutions.About the Role Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the ICT Manager will provide strategic leadership in planning, implementing, and managing the hospital’s information and communication technology systems. The role is responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient ICT infrastructure that supports clinical operations, administrative functions, data management, and the hospital’s overall strategic objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
ICT Strategy and GovernanceDevelop and implement the hospital’s ICT strategy aligned with organizational goals and healthcare service delivery.Provide leadership in the planning, development, and implementation of ICT policies, procedures, and standards.Ensure compliance with ICT governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and data protection standards.Systems Management and OptimizationOversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of hospital information systems including Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Hospital Management Systems (HMS), and other clinical and administrative applications.Ensure seamless integration between clinical, financial, and operational systems.Monitor system performance and coordinate upgrades, patches, and enhancements.Infrastructure and Network ManagementManage the hospital’s ICT infrastructure including servers, networks, hardware, communication systems, and data centers.Ensure high system availability, reliability, and security of the hospital’s ICT environment.Oversee disaster recovery planning, system backups, and business continuity measures.Cybersecurity and Data ProtectionImplement robust cybersecurity measures to safeguard hospital systems, patient data, and confidential information.Monitor system vulnerabilities and implement preventive and corrective security measures.Ensure compliance with data privacy and confidentiality standards in healthcare.ICT Support and Service DeliveryLead the ICT support team to ensure timely resolution of technical issues affecting hospital operations.Establish service level standards for ICT support and monitor performance against agreed benchmarks.Provide user training and technical support to improve staff adoption of digital systems.Innovation and Digital TransformationIdentify and implement innovative technologies that enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and digital health initiatives.Support automation of hospital processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational risks.Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to identify opportunities for technology-driven improvements.Vendor and Stakeholder ManagementManage relationships with ICT vendors, service providers, and technology partners.Evaluate and recommend ICT investments, systems upgrades, and technology solutions.Ensure service providers meet contractual obligations and performance standards.Budgeting and Resource ManagementPrepare and manage the ICT department budget.Ensure optimal utilization of ICT resources while maintaining cost efficiency.Monitor procurement of ICT equipment and services in line with hospital procurement policies.Key Result Areas (KRAs)Reliable and secure ICT infrastructure supporting hospital operationsEffective hospital information systems and digital platformsStrong cybersecurity and data protection frameworkImproved system uptime and reduced ICT service disruptionsEnhanced digital innovation and automation across hospital processesEfficient ICT support services and user satisfactionQualifications Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.Master’s degree in ICT, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field will be an added advantage.Professional ICT certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, CISM, PMP, or equivalent will be an added advantage.Minimum of 5 years’ experience in ICT management, preferably in a healthcare or large service environment.Demonstrated experience managing complex ICT infrastructure, hospital information systems, and cybersecurity frameworks.
