Logistics and Transport officer

The person to fill the role should be with good experience working in a busy place handling FMCG. Since we are dealing with a variety of perishable goods, one should be familiar with effective transport techniques, favourable packaging skills understanding and keen eyes on details. Should understand the documentation needed before dispatch or at entry points, work with other department on issues transport and also assist with after sales services to

clients.

• Experience of at least four years with progressively responsible experience preferably working for FMCG business.

• Degree in logistics, operations management or Business management.

• Valid driving license.

• Conversant with fleet management SOP’s and software’s.

• High integrity and demonstrated ability to follow standards and policy handling farm produce.

• Proactively and effectively share information with other departments to achieve best results.

• Transport of harvest from farm, workers (staff) to area of operation and finished produce to supermarket and other clients.

• Plan, organize, supervise and manage the work of staff (drivers) to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent the clients and their requirements.

• Ensure the schedule for annual insurance of assets has been updated and harmonized, and presented timely for payments.

• Respond to enquiries from a wide variety of internal and external parties in regards to timely deliveries and dispatch of produce.

• Prepare fee invoices and follow up on current and outstanding invoices.

• In conjunction with line manager, construct and implement the transport policy that will be shared with clients and staff.

• Perform any other related duties as assigned
