The Nyanza Reproductive Health Society (NRHS) is a non-profit organization with its headquarters in Kisumu. 

We are dedicated to improving the reproductive health of men and women in Kenya. We have several ongoing reproductive health and HIV prevention research projects. 

We partner with the Ministry of Health to scale up male circumcision for HIV prevention in various parts of Nyanza Province.

This is a research study of a new device called AccuCirc, which is used to circumcise male infants. 

As part of the study, we recruit mothers and ask them about their beliefs and attitudes about infant male circumcision and the AccuCirc device.
 
Job Title: Mobilizer / Tracer - AccuCirc Study
 
Location: Ahero
 
Reporting To: Project Coordinator

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Mobilization and recruitment of infants for infant male circumcision.
  • Coordinate all mobilization activities in the study area as per the Accucirc study Protocol.
  • Ensure that set targets for his/her team in the area of operation is met.
  • Carry out mapping in the area of operation, identification of all upcoming activities as per the community calendar that the project may take part in.
  • As the community liaison person in the area of operation, the mobilizer will be expected to be the key contact person for NRHS in their area of operation.  S/he will strive to build goodwill between NRHS and the community. As such, s/he should have contacts with the county administration and community members and continuously cultivate good relations with them.
  • Ensure follow ups on agreed activities/strategies.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Study Coordinator
Qualifications and Competencies

  • Diploma-level qualification in a health-related field or social work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Dholuo, and Kiswahili.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must reside within the study area during the course of employment.
  • 2 years experience in community mobilization and Ministry of Health Community structures.
