Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization that puts people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life and build lasting pathways to prosperity. Our work began two decades ago in Madagascar’s remote coastal communities and is growing globally. 

Across a dozen countries, we’re partnering with traditional fishers and community organizations to design, scale, strengthen and sustain fisheries management and conservation at the community level. We bring partners together in networks to advocate for reform, and share tools and best practices to support fishing communities across the globe. 

Summary job description 

The Blue Ventures Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) sits within the Programme Management function.

We seek a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager to support our team, partners, and communities in East Africa using monitoring and evaluation tools that enable learning and adaptive programme management. The Blue Ventures Monitoring and Evaluation function provides guidance, training, and support across key areas, including developing project theories of change and monitoring plans, deploying and supporting organisational and project monitoring and evaluation methods, data capture tools, and data visualisation and interpretation.

The position will be managed by the Senior Programme Manager for East Africa and the Comoros, based in the UK, with significant technical support from the global Monitoring & Evaluation function. This role will work closely with colleagues based in Kenya, Tanzania, Comoros, and Mozambique to support them and our partner organisations in strengthening and improving their monitoring and evaluation systems.
